The singer spoke on gender discrimination in the society, on the Midday show on The Beat 99.9FM with OAP Toolz. According to her, for a woman to be exceptionally successful, she has to work 10 times harder than the males.

She pointed out that powerful women like Oprah Winfrey and Mo Abudu represent a category of women who went through extreme measures to actualize their goals.

We all celebrate people like Oprah and Mo Abudu and we don’t actually realise what they have to do to get to that point. They probably had to do 20 times (more) than their male counterparts

She also explained that regardless of how powerful a woman is in her career, she should be submissive to her husband as the man is the head of the home.

Tiwa Savage talked about the birth of her son; how she will never forget the labor that lasted 22 hours and left her with physical scars and stretch marks she is only just embracing. She intends to paint her stretchmarks in different colors.

She also lamented about women being seen as wrong when issues arise in relationships, regardless of whether they are right or wrong.

Tiwa savage’s statement is sure to spark mixed reactions among the public. Although her statement will be impressive to the conservatives, Individuals and groups advocating for equal opportunities for both men and women are sure going to react negatively to it.

But regardless of her stands on gender discrimination, one thing should be made certain; women should be celebrated, as well as reminded of their value, worth and great significance to mother earth.

The singing diva was in the news last year following reports of a between her and her husband Teebillz.

The couple’s issues came to light when Tiwa’s husband Teebillz was rumored to have been caught on the verge of committing suicide at a Lagos bridge after he had made some shocking allegations against Tiwa on Instagram.
