The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has lost control as political party which is now government due to their long stay in opposition for eight solid years, Political Science Lecturer, Dr. Richard Amoako Baah has stated.

“They have been in opposition for so long and it appears they have gotten how to be in charge. Now they have come back so we should expect them to make mistakes here and there” he explained

Adding “very soon we will have people in government who will do outrageous things in terms of corruption. No doubt at all even though we talked about the previous government being corrupt”

The NPP sympathizer spoke against calls on President Akufo-Addo to strip Hon. Afisa Otiko Djaba of her position as Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister following her public outburst.

“People make mistakes. She has been warned and subsequently apologised. If she goes back and starts doing such things again then she will be in trouble”

Dr. Richard Amoako Baah, further explained that the NDC members are only being mischievous on their calls to the President to remove the minister from government.

“NDC ministers did worse in when they were in power. Remember Mark Woyongo saying violence begets violence and several other things said”, he justified.

Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba has come under fierce criticisms from the minority in particular for engaging in a fierce banter with outspoken Northern Regional Chairman over her visit to the Northern region last week and allegedly holding secret meetings with women leaders.

The meeting was allegedly scuttled at Modern City Hotel by Bugri Naabu who described the meeting as illegal and a usurpation of his rights since the area falls under his jurisdiction and he had no prior knowledge of the said meeting.

The ensuing confusion saw both of them trading accusations which have gained national attention with the minority in parliament claiming they have been vindicated by their resolve not to approve Otiko as a minister.
