The group in a statement signed by the North Tongu NPP Constituency Youth Organizer, Mr. Francis Lorlornyo Kwadzo-Ti, said they were pleased with the choice of President Nana Akufo-Addo and are ready to work with the nominee as their DCE.

Names of 212 nominees appointed to occupy the position of Municipal District Chief Executive in the various districts across the country were announced yesterday, April 26 by the Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Hajia Alima Mahama.

Names of some nominees are being challenged by some members of the NPP in some districts. In the Builsa North Constituency, angry youth have vandalized the party office over the appointment of Mr. David Afoko. The situation is not different in the Central Region, where youth groups in the Twifo Atti Morkwa district staged protests against the President’s nominee, Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi calling for reverse in his appointment.

But the North Tongu NPP youth said their nominee is the best bid. They have, therefore, congratulated the nominee and expressed their gratitude to the President for giving Mr. Richard Collins Arku the mandate to steer affairs in the district.

“Our gratitude goes to His Excellency the President of the Republic for his trust and confidence reposed in Hon. Richard Collins Arku as the nominee to represent him in the North Tongu District,” the statement read.

The group has also called on the people of North Tongu to put behind their political differences and rally their support behind the nominee for the development of the constituency.
