She made the remarks as the Guest of Honour at the signing of performance agreement by Ministers and their Chief Directors here in Accra.

She said as government, we shall not tolerate non-performance…The harm that non-performance has caused the fortunes of this heavily endowed nation of ours is great and this must not be allowed to happen.’’

Madam Frema Opare pointed out that, the president expects the Chief Directors to deliver the performance agreement they have signed.

The agreements she added has being signed in a transitional period where a new set of political actors have taken over office and they ‘’need to convince themselves that you [Chief Directors] will neither sabotage or hide things from them. They need to trust and have confidence in you.

Confidence and trust can only be built through transparency and accountability. Without them, there is going to be suspicion…We will make conscious effort to avoid mistrust.’’

She also urged the various ministers to have regular review meetings with their Chief Directors to ensure that their targets are progressively met. She further called on the Minister of Monitoring and Evaluation to take keen interest in the performance agreement signed.

Chief Directors she explained play a crucial role in the performance of Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

The Chief of Staff admonished the Chief Directors to demonstrate to the president through the performance of their ministries that ‘’you are capable and willing to help him executive his agenda,’’ because Nana Addo has already told Ghanaians that he is in a hurry to deliver.

Performance agreement she noted are about establishing expectations, apportion accountability and setting a standard for execution.
