New Patriotic Party (NPP) former MP for Obuasi East has doubts the police’ investigations into the death of Abuakwa North Member of Parliament JB Danquah-Adu will see the light of day.

Mr Edward Enning was certain that the case will not move beyond the preliminary level because it has been politicized.

“JB Danquah’s death will not see any result because these security agencies are politicizing the issue too much. This matter involves a law maker and that is why it is important that we take it serious but our police have just decided not to pay attention to it. They have failed us” he said on Accra-based Okay FM.

The family of the late Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North wants the state to re-open investigations into the murder of the MP.

The Bretuo family at Old Tafo in the Eastern Region mounted a huge banner with the picture of the late legislator at the forecourt of the Bretuo palace seeking for well-wishers to append their signatures on the banner.

The banner with the inscription “we want to know who killed the late Member of Parliament” comes in a week after the same family organized a press conference on the latest developments in the trial of the suspects involved in the murder of the late MP.

The head of the family Bretuohene Baffuor Odiatua Acheampong said the family may seek the expertise of Scotland Yard, the Metropolitan Police Service in Britain to investigate the death of the former Legislator as the family pursues justice.

However, Mr Enning believes the murder of the late MP has heightened safety fears among MPs.

He noted that the death of the late Danquah-Adu should not be taken for granted, therefore calling on security agencies to up their game to make sure that the culprits are brought to book.

The family has served notice it will resort to an international body such as the International Criminal Court in seeking justice due to delays in prosecuting the case by the Police and the attorney general.
