Mother of the late Major Maxwell Mahama has paid a glowing tribute to his deceased son.
She said as a mother she is so proud of her late son who was lynched by residents of Denkyira-Obuasi last week. “I’m so proud of the son I raised. An honourable man who took care of others, who protected the nation and displayed through manhood in how he cared for his family and his kids,” madam Bamford declared.
The barbaric murder of her son she stated has destroyed her and she would want to have the opportunity to see those behind the heinous act. “Tell the killers they have destroyed me.
Tell them he was a very special son. Forever my boy! Calling me “mummy, mummy, mummy.”” She said Major Mahama could never string a sentence together without mummy in it and residents of Denkyira-Obuasi should be told that “they do not know this loving, very affectionate son of mine.
They do not know about how he would walk and lift me up, put me on a sofa saying “relax mummy” and massage my feet.” “I’m lost,” she said tearfully revealing that some of her friends have been avoiding her since the painful demise of her child but she understands.
Major Maxwell Adam Mahama was born on 1st November 1985 in Bole to Captain Dennis Mahama Adam and Veronica Bamford.
Maxwell, while on official duties as a Detachment Commander at Denkyira-Obuasi met his untimely death at the hand of a mob on 29 May 2017.
On 5th June 2017, President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo promoted Maxwell posthumously to the substantive rank of Major.
