Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Obiri Boahen, has vowed to end his political career should the National Democratic Congress ever win political power in the history of Ghana.

Sounding resolute, the legal practitioner said the NDC which lost the December 2016 election to his party has lost touch with political reality and that members and leadership of the NDC are “tickling themselves”.

“…At all times material, I Nana Obiri Boahen, will quit politics if NDC ever comes to power again,” he said while reacting to suggestions by a leading member of NDC that the NPP will soon be hit with in-fighting now that it has won political power.

Addressing key party officials as part of activities marking the 25th anniversary of the NDC, Mr Alban concluded the NDC is the only national party in Ghana, arguing the it stands tall among other parties due to the support it enjoys from ordinary Ghanaians as against the NPP which boasts of only professionals.

“They have a few lawyers who are just good at writing and talking. But we have the men and women more than them,” Mr Bagbin who is the former Majority Leader of Parliament concluded.

But responding to the allusion by Mr Bagbin, Mr Obiri Boahen rubbished the claim, stating the NDC can never come back to power again, grounding his claim on what he described as the fight for leadership within the NDC.

According to him, Mr Bagbin, Haruna Iddrisu, Joshua Alabi, John Mahama and others are currently “fighting for leadership”

“They think it is a child’s play. Very soon they will go in for constituency elections, regional elections and national elections and the reality will dawn upon them; arrogance and greed. I mean they should continue tickling themselves,” Mr Obiri Boahen said on Joy FM Thursday.

He said Ghanaians are fed up with the NDC, adding “It’s interesting. They can continue to wallow in their self-pride thinking that they enjoy the support of Ghanaians but that is not it.

“Let them continue to be tickling themselves that NDC can come to power in 2020. We live to see. We will snatch more seats from them including…We are doing our homework. Alban Bagbin and Haruna Iddrisu let me assure them, we will snatch their seat from them”
