The suspect is in the grips of the police
Police at Agogo in the Ashanti Region have arrested a nomadic herdsman for raping a woman on a farm.
Nhyira FM’s Ohemeng Tawiah reported that thirty-two year old Abubakari Aliu allegedly chased the defenseless woman with a machete, overpowered and forcibly had sex with her on a farm at nearby Nsonyameye.
He fled after committing the alleged crime and left the 19 year old victim to her fate in the bush.
But luck eluded him when he was later apprehended at his hideout.
“My daughter has gone to farm when a Fulani man pounced on her in the farm and raped her without uttering a word. These herdsmen have been tormenting us in this town and have been a pain in our neck.
“We have no peace in our town because of these men who have invaded our town with their cattle and even killing us in return” the victim’s father told Ohemeng.
Family of the victim has called on the police to allow justice to prevail.
