Naa Oyoe Quartey, Miss Malaika 2013 has launched her foundation EVOQ at the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra.
A longtime dream for the former queen, it seeks to raise awareness about cancer cases including breast, cervical, and prostate in Ghana.
The foundation’s name was derived from the initials of Quartey’s mother who died 5 years ago after battling with cancer.
“The bigger goal is to set up a cancer research facility where there will be up to date machinery and technology for research into cancer as well as screening.” says Quartey.
Miss Quartey added that she is excited about partnering with companies to help fight cancer.
