Founder and Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, has been awarded Man of The Year, Business (Magnate Award) at the second edition of the Exclusive Men of The Year (EMY AFRICA 2017 AWARDS) at the Kempinski Hotel-Accra.
The award was in recognition of his contribution towards Business and Development in Ghana and Africa.
Addressing invited guests and honourary awardees on the theme: “The Role Of Responsible Men In Shaping Society And Building Flourishing Economy,” the Executive Director of EMY Africa & Carbon AV Ltd/Managing Partner-EM Magazine, Mr. Daniel Kojoh Soboh, said, “as men, the need to fulfil our divine roles as fathers, husbands, brothers, friends and other several responsibilities in society by way of providing leadership, mentorship, being providers, protectors and teachers cannot be over-emphasised.
Therefore men should also contribute to the emotional, spiritual, physical and mental well-being of their families,” he added.
He reiterated that “Platforms like the EMY AFRICA AWARDS that uncover the untold stories, celebrate the feat and recount the journeys of achievers we know can inspire and encourage others to aspire to be great. Our goals as an organisation is to celebrate greatness and in so doing inspire great works.”
The awards brought together politicians, industry players, entrepreneurs, professionals and celebrities across Africa.
Winners at this year’s maiden events were His Excellency, John Agyekum Kufuor-Statesman/Leadership Award, Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, Man of the year Governance, Mr. Hayssam Fakhry-Man of the year, Expat, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong-Man of the year, Business, Mr. Bright Simons-Man of the Year, Technology, Mr. Ernest Bediako Sampong-Man of the year, Health.
Other awardees were Sir Sam Jonah-Lifetime Achievement Award, Mr. Tony Elumelu-Man of the Year, Africa, Dr. Henry Seidu Dannaa-Man of Courage Award, Rev. Albert Ocran-Man of the year Mentorship, Professor Osei Darkwa-Man of the Year, Philanthropy, Mr. Boris Baidoo-Man of the Year, Agriculture, Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan-Ultimate Woman of the Year, Mr. Adebola Williams-African Young Achiever Award, Mr. Fadda Dickson-Media Excellence Award, Mr. Seth Kwame Boateng-Man of the Year, Communication, Mr. Yaw Sakyi-Man of the Year Sports, Freddie Meiway-Africa Entertainment Legends Award and Osibisa Band-Africa Entertainment Legends Award.
Receiving his award, Dr. Siaw Agyepong “seized the opportunity to thank the entire management and staff of Zoomlion/Jospong Group for their relentless efforts and support in helping bring him this far.
He dedicated the award to the hardworking Zoomlion YEA workers and the good people of Ghana for their support in championing the course of clean and environmentally healthy communities in Ghana.”
