Don’t Judge Nana Addo In 5 Months

The immediate-past Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Most Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Martey, has chided those criticising the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government that it has failed in less than five months in office.

He has therefore stated that it is “unwise” for anybody to assume that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has failed within less than five months since he took over power from Mahama and his National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.

The outspoken reverend minister, who made this remark at the commissioning of the 10th Homeopathic Hospital of C4C Group of Companies at Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital, noted that though previous governments – both NPP and NDC – have failed the country, especially in the field of health care delivery, adding President Akufo-Addo’s regime to the bandwagon of failed governments is “unwise.”

The former moderator noted, “Not Akufo-Addo’s administration; they just came, 110 or so days ago. Some of them have been there for eight years and they were not able to do anything.

“And they are querying those who just came; even they’ve not gotten one year. I’m calling upon those unwise people to stop querying. They should pray that the present government succeeds.”

Galamsey

The former moderator traced the root of the galamsey (illegal mining) menace to the John Mahama administration.

Rev Martey posited that galamsey became rampant during the Mahama administration and once again called on Ghanaians to give the needed support to the current government to deal with the menace.

He stated, “It was in Mahama’s administration that this thing became worse. I met Mahama, we sat down and I complained about this galamsey business. He told me that they had been able to identify the Ghanaians who were bringing the Chinese to Ghana and so they would deal with him, rather things got worse,” he disclosed.

According to Rev. Martey, Mr Mahama’s administration failed to deal with the menace even after complaints were made to him himself as president.

Prof. Martey charged the NPP government to sit up and “selflessly manage” the country and the ‘galamsey’ business will be a thing of the past.

Homeopathic

He used the opportunity to call on the government to educate the public on homeopathic health delivery “since research has proved that it is the most efficient way of health care delivery without any side effects.”

Dr. Michael Kyeremateng, President of the C4C Group of Companies, said measures were being put in place to enhance education on homeopathic system of health care delivery.

He indicated that that was being done through media campaign, visits to churches and writing of books on the subject matter.

Dr. Kyeremateng used the opportunity to launch his first book on homeopathic healthcare delivery entitled, “Homeopathic Treatment in Health Care Delivery.”

The colourful ceremony was attended by a high-powered government delegation, including a Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Nana Agyei Boateng; chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Finance, Dr. Mark Asibey Yeboah, among other dignitaries drawn from academia, the clergy, traditional authorities and politicians.
