Saliu Musah who is the Chairman of the group on Kumasi-based Abusua Fm said the group currently has a number of females but intends to recruit more in the coming weeks.

“As am talking to you now, people are still doing registration. We even have women among us and we are registering more women to help us do party work. We will make sure we take the Asawasi seat from Muntaka in 2020, Insha allahu”, he revealed

Taking listeners through how the group came about he said “I want to state it categorically clear that we are part of NPP. We work for the NPP party. We played a very vital role in Nana Addo’s victory. We take advice from Dr Amoako Tuffour, Kennedy Agyapong and even the President himself. They advice us on daily basis. We started with the name the EYE and we later changed it to Delta Force”

Delta Force came into prominence after they allegedly attacked the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator George Adjei indicating he was not their preference for the post.

They were reported to have assaulted him, threw him out of the office and nearly subjected him to severe beating but for the timely intervention of the police who were at the scene.

George Adjei was appointed by the President for the post but according but the groups claim, they cannot work with him because he is not from the region.

Initially, five suspects were arrested including the 37-year-old auto mechanic Kwadwo Bamba who is the organizer of the group.

Abubakar Sadiq Abdul Hameed, Jamil Issah and Hamza Mohammed later turned themselves to the police on Monday March 27, 2017 after being declared wanted for their roles in the violence at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council. But the police managed to arrest Awal Sadat Abubakar and others bringing the number of suspects to 13 and arraigned them before court only for their colleagues to attempt disrupting proceedings.

Subsequently, the police managed to arrest 13 of them and arraigned them before court on various charges for their roles but they stormed the court and freed the suspects.
