Members of the group say they want to right their wrongs by involving in communal activities that drive development. They have resolved to complement government’s effort of improving sanitation in the country by embarking on a monthly clean-up exercise.

Some members of Delta Force are currently on trial for forcefully evicting the Ashanti regional security coordinator from office.

Members of the force turned out in their numbers to clear the bushy lawns along the main Sofoline-Abuakwa road.

Residents along the road have consistently complained about the bushy environs which they say breeds and habours reptiles that invade their homes.

The lawns along the central reservation of the road have been left unattended to for close to two years, as portions grow thick.

The group says they are ready to use their strength to champion any form of developmental project in the city. Leader of the group, Kwadwo Fosu, said his members will be at the forefront of the clean-up exercise every month as a social responsibility.

“We are not a violent group as a section of the public perceive. We mistakenly acted in an anger whilst trying to express our displeasure on the appointment of the Ashanti Regional security coordinator. We now want to show Ghanaians that we came together as a group to champion the developmental agenda of Ashanti region. We are ready to contribute our quote to the development of the nation”.

The Kumasi metropolitan waste management director, John Gorkeh-Mia said the assembly will soon start prosecuting persons who contribute to poor sanitation in the metropolis.

He commended Delta Force for joining hands with KMA to make the city a clean place and called on other groups to also emulate to ensure Kumasi becomes the cleanliest city in the country.
