The event which was on the theme, ‘Reignite your selling advantage’, witnessed massive participation from about 200 sales personnel and marketing executives.

The highly charged participants were obviously anticipating to apply the knowledge learnt in their respective business operations.

The Country Manager of Econetmedia, Maxwell Dodd opened Friday’s session with a presentation on how to become a sales super star.

In his presentation, Maxwell Dodd took the participants through two sessions with highlights of “how to think on the spot”.

“Until you become passionate about this sales thing we are talking about, you cannot be a superstar. If you are doing this just to earn bread to eat, you will only get bread to eat and that will be your story but if you are passionate about it, you will become a super star,” he remarked.

The Managing Partner at Breakthrough Consult, Caleb Ayiku took over in the preceding sessions and wrapped up his presentation on overcoming failures as a sales person.

“The main reason why many of us don’t achieve much is because we don’t want much. The problem in life is that most of us don’t want much and those of us who do, are not ready to do what it takes to get all we want,” Caleb Ayiku said.

He went on to encourage participants to pursue their targets until they achieve results and not to give in to failure.

“Achieving results can be related to the Bible scripture, “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find”. So if you have to ask a thousand people for the same thing, until you get it, you should do so and if you have to seek to the end of the world till you find what you are looking for, you should do so.”

Some of the participants who spoke to Citi Business News were more than confident of dominating the sales world with their newly acquired knowledge.

“I have learnt so much, I’m so happy I came, I already feel fulfilled and know that the sky is now my limit in this sales field,” a participant said.

Another also remarked, “I was here last year, I’m so glad I came this year as well and I will continue to come each year because the lessons to learn are endless”.

Their facilitators, Caleb Ayiku and Maxwell Dodd equally shared their views on the event as well as their expectations from the participants.

“One of the things I always look for in terms of feedback from participants is how relevant do you think everything you have studied will be to you and one word that kept coming back was that this was practical, we were able to balance giving them all the principles versus actually practicing what we have taught them,” Caleb Ayiku said.

Maxwell also expressed his views as “It’s been a very wonderful and insightful two days coming here. I was expecting to meet people who are actually selling already so we could share with them the basics of selling and we hope that they will go out there and cause a revolution in sales”.
