Friends of Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto (FOAA), a group of sympathisers who believe in the committed state man, has clearly indicated it would be disrespectful and offensive to call the Minister for Food and Agriculture and former MP for Kwadaso constituency ‘incompetent’.
Last week, an audio tape believed to be the voice of the minister telling a journalist from Kumasi based Kapital Radio not to call him incompetent in an off air conversation in May 2015 was circulated on social media.
FOAA thinks the journalist’s behaviour was unethical, stating that, he did that just to blackmail Dr. Afriyie Akoto.
“They say there is always a reason behind every action; we want to know why a two year old tape was being reproduced as if it’s new”
“We, Friends of Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto (FOAA) believe this audio tape at play in 2017 is a stunt by NDC sympathisers who wish to see former President John ‘Incompetent’ Mahama back at the helm of affairs to lead the most divided party and confused party of our time in the 2020 elections”. The group further explained.
The statement also emphasized that, regardless who leads the NDC, President Nana Akufo-Addo will beat them again in 2020 because the he will fulfil his promise, implementing the One district One factory project, free Education, Planting for foods and jobs and other programs unlike John Mahama who could not fulfil a any of his campaign promises to Ghanaians.
The great support for the minister was revealed in a statement by the Association Tuesday morning.
