Kwame Baffoe, aka Abronye DC, who is the NPP’s Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser, on Tuesday, 25 April stormed the private residence of former Youth and Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuije in the company of some Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and National Security Officers in search of alleged stolen state vehicles, ClassFMonline.com can report.
The incident took place at the Ododoiodoo MP’s Aplaku residence near Weija in the afternoon.
Mr Vanderpuije’s wife, who was at home at the time, opposed the team from entering on grounds that they had no search warrant.
This caused the search team to split as some of them went away in an attempt to secure a warrant while others waited within the precincts of Mr Vanderpuije’s home.
Mr Vanderpuije himself is currently out of the country.
He told Class News in an interview that: “No youth have attacked me but the people who say they are from BNI and National Security and Confiscated Car Committee were in my house, they said they were coming to pick government vehicles from my house.”
“I am not in Ghana so they are harassing my wife and children. For now they have not have access to my house, my wife said she will not open for them to enter because they have no warrant. My children are from school coming to the house but she can’t open the gates for the children to enter because if she opens the gate the people will enter the house.”
Abronye DC has been leading an Assets Retrieval task force set up by the presidency to get back allegedly stolen state cars from former government officials since the NPP came into power in January this year.
