Addressing a section of the media at his 61st birthday celebration in the Ashanti region, the renowned pastor described the lynching of the army commander as barbaric and alien to Ghana’s culture.

“Ghanaians we are not like that; this is foreign and we should not entertain that,” he said.

Pastor Obeng also applauded leaders across the political divide for their unanimous condemnation of the heinous crime, noting that “for the first time both political parties, all of them in parliament stood to condemn that act.”

An apparent disturbed pastor added, “I think this is a misunderstanding of the God we serve, because the God we serve never ask we should take other people’s lives.”

He wants the laws of the country to deal rigorously with the murderers: “The people who did it, I appeal to the lawyers and judges to bring them to book irrespective of their political affiliation”.

He pleaded with the Ghana Armed Forces to find a place in their hearts to forgive the Denkyira Obuasi community because “vengeance is for the Lord”.

The pastor as part of his 61st birthday celebration, held a blood donation exercise at the forecourt of the Calvary Charismatic Center at Ayigya in the Kumasi metropolis.

Hundreds took part to donate blood for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Blood Bank.

According to Pastor Ransford Obeng,  every Christian should be a blessing to others and donating blood is one of the greatest and divine services.
