Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia says he has not set foot where his official residence is supposed to be.
“I have not actually visited the house,” he said on Tuesday during a meeting put together by the Office of the President with a section of the media.
The meeting held at the Flagstaff House was at the instance of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to account for the first six months of his stewardship.
Answering a question on the state of the official residence, Vice President Bawumia said “I don’t know if there is any work going on”.
He said though government is not happy the building is lying idle, there will be a review of the $14 million cost of construction.
“We are starting from a position that $14 million is too high for a bungalow.”
The renovation of the residence was cost by the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
Dr Bawumia had expressed doubt whether the project went through open tendering, claiming the money could have drilled many boreholes.
