Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is in Ghana to spend his summer holidays in his home country. The 26-year-old will be spending time with his family who resides in Kumasi.
The Arsenal forward who has some few days to join his side Arsenal for pre-season decided to travel to Ghana to visit his family members as part of his holidays during the off-season. He is expected to stay in the country for the next couple of days before he flies out to stat pre-season with the Gunners.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) had been on a solicitation galore regarding Welbeck’s inclusion in the Ghana national team -Black Sars. However, the Arsenal striker opted to represent England at international level. The 26-year-old has made a name for himself at the side, having claimed 34 caps for the Three Lions so far.
The family of the Arsenal forward has built a school in Ghana. With the support of the St Andrew Church Droylsden, Manchester, the Ghanaian and his mother have been able to put up a school for pupils of Nkawie in the Ashanti region. The St. Andrew Church in Droylsden is part of the Church of England Diocese of Manchester according to the website of the mother church.
Nkawie is a small town and is the capital of Atwima Nwabiagya District, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
Welbeck is expected to return to Arsenal for pre-season activities. Danny opted to represent England at the international level after turning down the chance to play for his home country.
Born in Manchester to Ghanaian parents, Welbeck made his way through the youth teams at Manchester United before making his senior debut in 2008 and scoring in the process. He was with United when they won the 2008–09 League Cup and the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup before being sent on loan to Preston North End and more recently Sunderland.
The forward made his senior England debut in March 2011 in a 1–1 friendly draw against Ghana. Danny Welbeck scored his first senior international goal on 2 June 2012, the only goal in a friendly victory over Belgium.
Welbeck joined Arsenal in 2014, on a long-term deal for a £16 million fee. He is yet to be at his best of form due to series of injuries he has sustained over the past three seasons he has spent with the Gunners.
