The “Back to School” initiative is an effort to support pupils in the company’s adopted schools with educational materials to empower them to fully realise their potentials.

Beneficiary schools and pupils receive textbooks, teaching aides to drive improvement in education in schools adopted by the company. This year’s donations are supported by the Rotary Club of Tema.

The donations were led by the Zonal Business Manager for Central/Western and the Eastern/Volta Regions, Ishmael Wiaboh and George Diantey respectively.

Commenting during the donation, Ismail Wiaboh re-echoed the company’s commitment to ensure that children of school going age have the required materials to make learning easier.

He said “Airtel Ghana believes in empowering the next generation of Ghanaian leaders to fully realize their potential through the power of education.”

“This is expressed through our intervention in education as a key pillar of our CSR programme. Through our School Adoption programme, we invest in infrastructure, teaching and learning materials to drive improvements in education across the country. This year, we are happy to be collaborating with the Rotary Club of Tema to do these donations. As a socially responsible company, our commitment to support schools in communities that we operate in and education in general will continue to be a key pillar in our CSR programmes”.

The Heads of the Himankrom Methodist School and Odumase Krobo Presby J. H.S Mrs. Alice Appoh and Mr. Wisdom Sampong respectively expressed their gratitude to Airtel Ghana and the Rotary Club of Tema and were optimistic that their pupils will put the materials to optimal use.

Airtel Ghana continues to demonstrate commitment towards empowering young people through its holistic CSR programmes with specific focus on education such as the School Adoption Programme and the Evolve with STEM initiative.
