Bastie Samir -The media has indeed gotten a huge share of the mixed reactions which engulfed the whole of Ghana regarding the unprecedented defeat of the ‘unbeatable’ Ghanaian boxer Brimah Kamoko, known commonly as Bukom Banku.
The vibrant boxer known for his controversial ways was woefully defeated by former amateur boxing team captain Bastie Samir at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

Bukom Banku who earlier bragged about defeating the 31-year-old in the third round was brought to his knees in the 7th Round after yet another punch landed him on the floor, leaving referee, Roger Banner with no option but to end the bout.

Bastie Samie is called the Beast. His nickname follows an impressive record of knocking out all his opponents in his 17 bouts. Samir has got 16 wins, 0 losses and one draw (16-0-1, 15 KO’s).
Bastie Samir is no ‘small’ boxer as he is highly regarded as a very good fighter among his counterparts. Even the great Floyd Mayweather admitted to his toughness after training with him.
Having faced the Ghanaian in a 15 round sparring session, Mayweather admitted to Samir’s toughness and tenacity.

Bastie’s victory has gained him much prominence in the Ghanaian media and this has also brought about a lot of questions about the boxer.
In case you have been wondering, Bastie is from Ghana but resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. He relocated to the US in 2008 and has won many professional bouts there.
We cannot say if Bukom Banku only overlooked the impressive records of the US Based boxer while he bragged about defeating him, as his records have never been hidden from the media.
Let us break it down, Bastie won the African Amateur Championships in the welterweight division in May 2007. He represented Ghana and won silver at the 2007 All-Africa Games boxing welterweight division and qualified for the Olympics 2008 in the light-heavyweight division.
Beating popular opponents like Mavin Blair, Jacob Alvarez, Joseph Dunn, Damon Reed, and others, Samir is surely not below average. As a matter of fact, his 6th round split draw with Lester Gonzalez in April 2011 is the only blemish on his record.
