According to data gathered by Lamudi Ghana, East Legon polled 16.51 percent of searches made on Lamudi in the first quarter of 2015. The neighborhood’s proximity to the nation’s sole international airport and second biggest mall makes it an attractive location for house hunters.

2. Cantonments

A neighborhood that used to house colonial-era workers, Cantonments was one of Accra’s foremost created neighborhoods. The neighborhood is primarily home to those in the upper-middle income bracket. Data obtained from Lamudi Ghana indicated that 7.35 percent of searches were made on Cantonments in the first quarter of 2015, making it the second most searched area in Accra.

As its name suggests, the neighborhood is located within a short range of the Kotoka International Airport. This proximity has helped shore up the status of the neighborhood, making it a desired location for locals and foreigners alike. Lamudi Ghana’s data indicated that this area polled 7.21 percent of searches on its website.

5. Dzorwulu

Dzorwulu is home to many Ghanaians and foreigners, with some commercial activities available to liven up the place. Data gathered from Lamudi shows that Dzorwulu was the fifth most popular neighborhood in Accra, polling 3.9 percent of searches on the property portal.

6. Osu

Accra’s oldest and liveliest neighborhood came sixth with 3.57 percent of searches made. The neighborhood’s glitz and glamor is a clear attraction for many house hunters. Its mix of colonial and modern residential homes as well as the many social hangouts are believed to be huge contributing factors.

7. Labone

This neighborhood was deemed the seventh most popular neighborhood in Accra. Lamudi’s data indicated that 3.36 percent of searches on the property portal were made on this neighborhood.

8. Airport Hills

Airport Hills is a gated community located between Spintex and the Kotoka International Airport. With a focus on luxury homes, Airport Hills attracts the interest of those belonging to the upper-middle income segment.

9. Trasacco Valley

This is another gated community located between East Legon and Adjiringanor. It is one of the most sought after gated communities in Accra and ranked ninth according to house hunters in Ghana.

10. East Legon Hills

One of the fastest developing communities in Accra, East Legon Hills has become an embodiment of a dream neighborhood for many house hunters. According to Lamudi’s data, it polled 2.38 percent of searches on the website.
