The France international’s agent claims his client left Old Trafford for Juventus in 2012 because his manager at the time did not see his potential.

Mino Raiola says Sir Alex Ferguson had a different opinion to the rest of the world on Paul Pogba’s value when the midfielder decided to leave Manchester United in 2012.

The France international left United for Juventus upon the expiration of his contract, with Ferguson blaming the player’s agent for the decision.

Raiola refuses to confirm Ibra stay

But Raiola insists Ferguson had a minority view on Pogba’s ability and thinks his view has since been proven correct, even if he is reluctant to label his row with the legendary former manager as “a dispute”.

Pogba is celebrating his first major trophy with United having played in the EFL Cup final success over Southampton and Raiola is thrilled with his progress.

Raiola told talkSPORT : “Dispute? No, there was a discussion about what was the value of the player in that moment.

“I think Alex Ferguson had a different view on Paul Pogba to what the rest of the world had and that is his right.

“Paul Pogba proved what his value is and maybe at that time it was the best thing to go to go away, have a new experience, and being under Antonio Conte for sure was important.

“I didn’t have any dispute with Alex Ferguson. If Alex Ferguson had a dispute with me, I don’t know because at that moment there was not a dispute. I was a little bit stunned by what he said in his book but everyone has an opinion.”

Raiola talked up the benefit of Pogba’s four-year stay in Italy, hailing current Chelsea boss Conte.

He added: “A little bit like Zlatan Ibrahimovic who went to Juventus – an amazing club – Paul also went there. Zlatan found Fabio Capello and when Paul went there he found Conte. Both trainers for my players were very important in their career.

“[Leaving] made him a better player, made him the player is now and that is why he could come back at that level – maybe if he had stayed he wouldn’t be at that level. You never know.

“It takes us two or three hours to talk about dispute between me and Ferguson. He is a Sir, I want to be on his level also so I want to keep it nice. He has his opinion – you will not hear any bad words from me about Mr Alex Ferguson.”
