Theo Walcott has netted his 100th goal for Arsenal by the second goal in the Gunners’ FA Cup clash with Sutton United.

The 27-year-old was chosen to lead the line by manager Arsene Wenger, who also handed teh England forward the captain’s armband in a much-changed starting XI.

‘You can’t compare City to United or Liverpool’

Walcott joined Arsenal in 2006, signing from Southampton for an initial £5 million, which eventually saw the Gunners pay out £9.1m after bonuses.

He scored just one goal in his first full season at the club, netting in the League Cup, but has since gone on to score 99 more times.

Walcott’s tally includes 63 Premier League goals and 17 European goals, with his 100 goal milestone coming after 389 appearances.

At 17-years-old, he became England’s youngest ever senior player, and then set another record when he became their youngest hat-trick scorer in the 4-1 win over Croatia in September 2008.

He has been in impressive form this season for Wenger’s side, scoring eight goals in 16 league appearances, and could even better his tally of 14 goals from the 2012-13 season.
