The wife of a black man shot dead by police in North Carolina can be heard repeatedly telling officers he was not armed in a video she filmed herself.
The killing of 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott has sparked four nights of protests in Charlotte.
In the video, which is some two minutes long, Rakeyia Scott pleads: “Don’t shoot him, don’t shoot him. He has no weapon.”
As she films, an officer can be heard repeatedly saying: “Drop the gun” .
She then shouts to them that her husband has a traumatic brain injury.
“He has a T. B.I. He’s not going to do anything to you guys. He just took his medicine,” she says.
Mrs Scott then calls to her husband to get out of the car so the police do not smash the windows.
Shortly afterwards gunshots can be heard, but the actual shooting is not caught on camera.
Mr Scott is then seen lying face down on the ground while his wife says: “He better live”.
Police have so far refused to release their footage of the killing, which include at least one body camera video and a dashboard camera video.
Mr Scott’s family were shown the police video on Thursday, but their lawyer said it did not make it clear whether or not he was armed.
Police have previously said that a gun was found next to Mr Scott’s body.
The city’s police chief and mayor have both said that the footage is likely to be released at some point.
Demonstrators in Charlotte’s business district on Thursday and Friday chanted “release the tape” and “we want the tape”.
The protests were largely peaceful, the armed members of the National Guard watching over them.
Meanwhile, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has postponed a visit to Charlotte, scheduled for Sunday.
“After further discussion with community leaders, we have decided to postpone Sunday’s trip as to not impact the city’s resources,” the campaign said in a statement.
“She will plan to visit Charlotte next Sunday, provided circumstances allow.”
Mrs Clinton has said that police in Charlotte should release the video immediately.
