President-elect Donald Trump told reporters Thursday that his priorities as president will be healthcare reform, strengthening immigration enforcement and creating “big-league” jobs.
Trump spoke after meeting in the Capitol with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).
“We have a lot to do. We’re going to work very strongly on immigration, health care and we’re looking at jobs, big-league jobs,” he told reporters while McConnell stood at his side in the Ohio Clock Corridor.
Trump, however, declined to reassert his campaign pledge to bar Muslims from temporarily entering the country. He walked away when a reporter asked, “Are you going to ask Congress to ban Muslims from entering the country.
His wife, Melania, also attended the meeting as did Vice President-elect Mike Pence, who left the session early.
