Ivorian civil servants resumed work on Monday after three weeks of downing downing tools.
According the RFI news site, union officials said that five of their six demands had been met and were willing to give dialogue another chance.
The west African nation which employs over 200,000 civil servants, has faced a wave of labour unrest and military mutinies putting to test the leadership of President Alassane Ouattara.
The president has been acclaimed internationally for his leadership in the wake of a civil war 6 years ago and Ivory coast is now one of the world’s fastest growing economies.
But critics say only a fraction of the population has reaped the benefits of the boom.
The strike had paralysed government agencies and one of the most affected sectors was education.
The union officials were however quick to add if negotiations with the government fail, they will resume industrial action in a month’s time.
