A “special bull” will be slaughtered in honour of the fallen Maasai kingpin, in line with the community’s culture, burial arrangements committee chairman Hassan Kamwaro also said.

Kamwaro noted on Tuesday that the bull will be slaughtered specially for Ntimama’s “Ilnyangusi” agemates.

“A respected leader like Ntimama, with large herds of cattle and a family, and who lived an honourable life is supposed to be celebrated in a special ceremony,” he said.

He added that locals have donated 15 bulls and several goats and sheep.

The chairman said about 50,000 people are expected to attend the funeral at Ntimama’s Motonyi home on September 14.

“Ntimama was respected not only in Kenya but also across the borders. That is why we are expecting visitors from all over,” Kamwaro said on Tuesday.

The former minister died last Thursday night in his sleep at his Melili home in Narok county.

The requiem mass for Ntimama, who once served as Narok North MP, is to be held at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi on September 13.

Meanwhile, Narok lawyer Martin Kamwaro has expressed concern over hate messages being propagated on social media in regard to Ntimama’s death .

“It is sad that some individuals can spread hate messages following Ntimama’s demise. I urge Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery to order police to investigate those behind such offensive posts,” he said.
