President elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will on Thursday begin a two-day “Thank you tour” of the Northern.
He will be accompanied by his vice, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia and other party bigwigs.
President elect, Nana Akufo-Addo on his arrival at the Tamale Airport will drive straight to the palace of Nalerigu overlord of the Mamprugu traditional area, the Nayiri, Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga.
He will on the day two pay courtesy calls on the Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya Naa Abdulai Andani and the Abudus Regent, the Boling-Lana in Yendi.
He will as well visit the Yagbonwura’s Palace in Damongo to thank the people of Gonjaland for their support.
Northern Region’s contribution to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) overwhelming victory at the 2016 polls cannot be underestimated.
As the home region of outgoing President John Dramani Mahama, the NPP won 13 out of the 31 Parliamentary seats in the Northern Region.
