On Saturday, during Eezy FM’s weekend show ‘Sane Gbaa’ which takes place at 3pm, Prof. Kofi Asare Opoku, citied a proverb, saying “before the blacksmith brought his razor, the vulture and the guinea fowl shaved their heads.”
He pontificated that love is not new to Africans and Ghanaians for that matter.
“Our ancestors understood love a very powerful and an irresistible cosmic force called “Odo”, he said.
He went on to dazzle listeners with an array of proverbs explaining the events that originated the some of our Akan vocabularies associated with love.
Kofi Asare Opoku was former Associate Professor of Religion and Ethics and the Institute of African Studies at the University of Ghana, Legon; he is an authority on traditional African religion, and retired Professor of Religious Studies at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania.
He is currently the Chairman of the Kwabena Nketia Centre for Africana Studies.
Among the guests that graced the show were; The Columbian Ambassador, H. E Claudia Turbay Quintero, Prof. Audrey Gadzekpor and other distinguished personalities.
