Sensational Ghanaian Traditional/Afro pop musician,Lily M has revealed emphatically that she will be featuring Grammy award winning Afro-pop singer Angélique Kidjo from Benin and multiple international award winning Afro-pop singer Selif keita also from Mali in her upcoming song.
Lily M,whose major breakthrough was with the release of her singles (“Strength Of A Woman ft Sherifa Gunu” and “Rhythm Of Life ”) which she promoted as songs of peace and female empowerment, was answering a question with regards to whether she intends featuring any international musician in her upcoming song.
“Oh yes…its always my plan to feature international acts in my songs…I have featured the likes of Sherifa Gunu,Okyeame Kwame and i believe its about time i feature great musicians like Angelique Kidjo and Salif Keita…My management is currently negotiating with the two internnational music icons…so watch out”,Lily M told Dr. Who host of Hot and Classic Showbiz review on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM.
Explaining her motive for wanting to feature these great musicians,Lily M emphasized strenuously that,”Angelique and Salif Keita are the musicians i admire so much…they command great respect and have been a source of inspiration not only to me but to alot of people across the globe”,
Lily M was born and raised in Kumasi in the Ashanti-region and hails from Asomanso in Kwabre district. A Buddhist by religion, she started singing at the Soka Gakai International (S.G.I) since childhood.
She launched her full music career after graduating from CBS. In 2013, she released her first album (“Africa Great Continent”) featuring both local and international artists.
Lily M is currently out with her newest single track,’Odo Dea” featuring Okyeame Kwame which is enjoying massive airplay on alot of radio stations.
