As part of the International Women’s Day commemorated yesterday, Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has tasked women to let their actions be a reflection of what they preach to other women and the entire world.

According to the outspoken actress, women should be supportive of one another.

She underscored that it won’t make sense if women fight for empowerment and yet other women in high positions won’t help young women who need their support in instances of seeking sponsorship.

“As we ask for equality and support, we need to be more encouraging and supportive towards one another. Our actions have to reflect on the message we’re preaching. More women in the creative arts need to learn to speak out more against injustice of any kind and recognise the influence we have to effect change,” she told NEWS-ONE.

Lydia is one of the few vocal Ghanaian actresses on women-related issues.

Sometimes, she is castigated for her postures, while others praise and urge her to continue to speak for women.

Yesterday, she was among some selected women invited by First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo to join her to celebrate the achievement of women in Ghana under the theme: ‘Be Bold For Change’.

Also at that ceremony were Samira Bawumia, wife of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, CEO of Sparrow Production, Shirley Frimpong Manso, CEO of YN Productions, Yvonne Nelson, Joselyn Dumas, Nana Ama McBrown, Sandra Ankobiah, Claudia Lumor of Glitz Africa, Charterhouse’s Theresa Ayoade, among others.
