The event at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra was attended by friends and family of the late broadcaster with the former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Arts, and Culture, Abla Dzifa Gomashie in attendance.

Two special candle lights rituals were performed by Prof. Ernest Dumor, father; and Mawuena Trebarh a sister of Komla Dumor to remember Komla and his mother, Mrs Dumor of the blessed memory.

The program which was started by the Holy Spirit Cathedral senior choir led by Kobina Yebuah sang ‘me nsi d3n nna wase’ by a classic organ music by Peter Twum-Baah while recitals were produced by soloists of the church, Paula Jiagge and Mary Kumadey.

As the music was going on Komla’s father Prof. Dumor who wore white traditional dress looked up in a very pensive mood.

Preaching the sermons, the Very Rev. Father Samuel Filton-Mensah paid a growing tribute the late iconic BBC reporter he said the late Komla Dumor was brought up by great educated parents and therefore never departed from the virtues which he was raised with.

He noted that in his career as journalists he never follow stethoscope but he created a new identity for himself.

Father Filton added that Komla had an enviable endowment that is common to be carried away but he was still submissive.

He noted that Komla led an exemplary life while his ‘s approach to issues was different which according to him have become his legacy today.
