Dela after her days in TV3 Mentor 3 organised in 2007 was signed unto the label and released her maiden album, “Girl Talk” which had six songs including ‘Fever’, ‘Odo’ and Mate Aka Ne So’.

Many had speculated that her decision to discontinue being on the label was an indication all was not well and her actions subsequently muddied the waters.

But speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Dela shot down the rumours stating that her relationship with Quophi Okyeame has not been soiled.

“We are excellent. I call Okyeame Quophi every now and then. In fact, when I finished working on this new single, he was one of the people I sent it to. Stacy [Okyeame Quophi’s wife] is like a big sister to me. She coached me to be a lady,” the songstress said.

On why she left Emklan Entertainment, Dela mentioned that it was to enable her further her education.

“I was signed on for five years and did a little about two years. We had to come to a consensus to call off. It was mutual. I had to go to school; he wanted to do things in a certain way. We were really okay with it but at a point, I believed I had to focus on my school and afterwards, we would come back to talk about the terms again… I had to go to school so I had to talk to him. They obviously would not want to be dormant while I’m in school so it was really mutual. I’m yet to go back and talk,” she said.

Dela now holds a BSC in Public Relations and Marketing from University of Professional Studies, Accra and is a Vehicle life consultant at Nissan.

She has released “Let Me Go”, her first single after the long break from the mainstream.
