Abraham Attah Was Paid Well For ‘Spiderman’ Role

Mawuko Kuadzi, manager of award-winning actor, Abraham Attah has disclosed that the financial reward for the latter playing in a role in the upcoming Spider-Man movie: Homecoming was a good one.

Kuadzi made the revelation during a press conference at the Gold Coast Restaurant in Accra on Thursday. He refused to reveal specific figure except to say “he was paid very well.”

It is believed that Attah might play young Miles Morales in the movie set for release in July 2017. He will play alongside Robert Downey Jr, Micheal Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tom Holland and many others.

A total of 10, 000 shoes will be donated to orphans across the country, manager of young actor Abraham Attah has announced at a press conference Thursday morning.

Mawuko Kuadzi told the media the Toms shoes are in Ghana, and ready for donation. He added that some of the shoes will be given out to students of Attah’s former school, Ashiaman Primary and JSS, and also refugees at the Buduburam refugee camp, who were part of the movie, Beasts Of No Nation and other charity homes.

“I want to say ‘Thank You’ to Toms for giving me this opportunity to give out 10,000 shoes to give to the needy in Ghana.” said Attah at the presser.

Ama K. Abebrese , Bernice Dapaah, a representative of Bright Future Generation, an NGO and members of Attah’s management team were present at the press conference.

Attah wore Toms shoes during his presentation at the 2016 Oscars, the company promised to make thousands available for donation after the award scheme.

Abraham Attah gained international prominence playing lead role alongside Idris Elba in the movie Beasts of No Nation directed by Emmy Award-winning Cary Fukunaga.

Playing the character ‘Agu’ who when civil war tears his family apart, is forced to join a unit of mercenary fighters and transformed into a child soldier earned Attah praise around the world.

He won Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at Venice Film Festival 2015, ‘Best Male Lead’ award at the 2016 Independent Spirit Awards, and also Rising Star Award’ at the Black Fim Critics Circle (BFCC). The award scheme called Attah’s role as “one of the strongest and most phenomenal we have ever seen” and added that he had “a very bright future ahead of him”.

The movie was based on the 2005 novel of the same title by Uzodinma Iweala. Shoot in Ghana, it starred Ama K. Abebrese, Fred Amugi and Grace Nortey.

The movie was the first fictional feature produced and distributed by Streaming Service Netflix.
