The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an individual currently being held under immigration detention.
The individual has been found inadmissible to Canada due to non-compliance with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and is currently detained under IRPA as a potential flight risk and because of his unwillingness to provide information to his true identity.
The CBSA’s thorough investigation indicates he entered Canada in 2003 by ship at the Sault Ste. Marie port of entry. The ship’s original departure location is believed to have been West Africa. It is also believed that the individual could have been a member of a ship’s crew or seaman.
The investigation also indicates that the individual speaks English and French, may have ties to or origins in Ghana and has several identifying marks. The identifying marks on the individual’s body are a tattoo of a large anchor on the left upper arm; a tattoo of the word “GOD” on the right upper arm and a horizontal knife-like scar on the back neck area.
