The Voltic Mother’s Day Celebration which was held at the Nsawam Government Hospital on Friday 12th May, 2017 was used as an occasion to interact and educate young mothers and expectant mothers on basic business tips as a way of turning their dreams into goals for financial empowerment to avoid becoming a burden on themselves and society.

Speaking to over 80 women including teenage mothers, expectant mothers and other community members, Sylvia Esi Yawson, Human Resource Trainee of Voltic used her personal story to demonstrate how she took responsibility of her life to attain her dream profession.

Donating assorted items including Voltic Natural Mineral Water, mattresses toiletries, cloths and other essentials to the young mothers and the hospital’s maternity ward, Jacqueline Awuah, Key Accounts Manager of Voltic, indicated that “our presence and gifts for these teenage mothers is to inspire them to see beyond their current situation and dream again.

Our aim is that they will become economically driven by the stories and insights from our employees and develop themselves into beacons of hope for their children and other teenagers in their community.

Our doors are open for any of them willing to do business with us. We look forward to hearing life changing – stories from our interactions with these teenagers today”.

The event, which was themed ‘Empowering Young Mothers to Dream Again” had in attendance female employees of Voltic, the Assembly Women of Government Electoral Area, Madam Fati Vondolie, opinion leaders from the community, nurses and midwives of the Nsawam Government Hospital who were all refreshed after the event.

Commenting separately on the event Madam Fati Vondolie and Madam Stella Woana, Matron of the hospital both said they were inspired by the kind gesture of the female employees of Voltic who having realized the importance of women empowerment as a means of economic transformation of society decided to celebrate this year’s Mother’s Day with these teenage mothers in their community.
