He said besides loans and investors coming into the country, it is equally important for Ghanaians to crave for collaborations that will bring development and expansion to the local economy.

Mr Amoo-Gottfried said this during the commemoration of the 55th anniversary of the signing of the Friendship Treaty between the two countries at the Accra International Press Centre.

The signing of the treaty between both countries will be re-enacted on the 18th of August.

Mr Amoo-Gottfried said Ghana aims to tap into the Chinese experience of lifting 600 million people out of poverty in the last three decades and the development of rural areas.

He said GHACHIFA by this commemoration is seeking to promote, through friendship, the expressed understanding of the differences in culture, technology and development between the two countries.

Mr Amoo-Gottfreid said GHACHIFA, as a Non Governmental Organisation, is focused on developing an industrial park, to be known as ‘Friendship Village’.

He said GHACHIFA as part of its mandate is also promoting a West Africa-Sino Chamber of Commerce and the West Africa-Sino Business Network to be headquartered in Ghana.”

Mr Henry Mallet, the Communication Director, GHACHIFA, said the benefits in this relationship is mutual and China in return will have access to a conducive business environment and open markets.

He said GHACHIFA has also been working closely with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in supplying ICT logistics to deprived areas of the country.

GHACHIFA has flagged the month of August as a month of ‘Friendship and Peace’ and urged all Ghanaians to protect the prevailing peace in the country.
