The exam which is organized by the certified Ghana based professional body, Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) [ICAG] saw Mrs. Alhassan who is also a staff of the Controller and Accountant General Department who is also grandaunt, named among one of the best students for the sitting.

Speaking to the thebftonline.com, the elated Mrs. Alhassan thanked his family especially the husband for his unflinching support in keeping the home and encouragement throughout the period of here studies.

“I Thank the Almighty Allah for helping me to go through this course and let me say a big thank you to my husband and his brother Nat Acheampong for their support throughout the period. I say, may Allah bless them and replenish whatever they have lost, as they also supported me financially. I also say I big thank you to my office as well. It was not easy for me but with determination, I made it.”

She therefore took the opportunity and called on young girls and ladies in school especially those taking accounting, to have self determination to complete whatever they have started and pray with the hope that Allah will see them through.

“let me say that, this is not my first time that I have written this particular paper that I got this award in. My first time I wrote this paper, I failed it but that did not discourage me, even though I was sad. I rather told myself I write again and become the best in it. And true today this is what has happened with Allah’s help and determination. So, I will encourage the young ones to have self-determination and believe that they can even do better than I have done.”

“Even though the accounting field is almost the preserve of our men, the best accountants in the world today are women. So, I will encourage more girls and ladies to venture into the area and I trust that we can do better than any man,” she added.
