The provision of jobs, he stressed, would greatly eliminate the tendency for people, especially the youth, to engage in crime and other social vices.

According to the communications director, unemployment posed a great danger to government since many who may not get decent jobs to do would rather resort to various unconventional ways to survive.

He said issues of joblessness and lack of start-up capital were some of the challenges bothering most of the youth and the earlier these are tackled by government the better it would be for the youth of this country.

He, therefore, challenged government to roll out the one-district one-factory and other programmes which have been tailored towards the youth on time.

The constituency communications director who is now contesting to be the First Vice Chairman of the constituency said “we know that the youth constitute a greater majority in this country and they are indeed the working class hence my appeal to government to consciously prioritise issues about them.’

Speaking in an interview with Today in Kumasi, Mr. Kyei however, commended efforts by government to empower the youth through the Youth Enterprise Agency (YEA).

Laying out his plans for the Asokwa constituency, the aspiring vice-chair promised to ensure that the youth who have undergone vocational training are supported with start-up capital for them to move on with life.

Mr. Kyei noted of plans to ensure persons who needed further education are given a push by his outfit to continue.

Scholarships and other incentives needed by those who could not continue their education for lack of funds will be given the needy to enable them complete schooling.

Mr. Kyei also promised to operate an open door policy when he is elected as the Vice-Chair to ensure all in the Asokwa constituency could approach him for suggestions.
