The president of the Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders (GIFF) Kwabena Ofosu-Appiah early this week asserted that there was tension between the two companies.

The companies have been tasked to provide validation services and help in the implementation of the Single Window Project.

The development is believed to be affecting revenue collection at the ports.

But speaking to Citi Business News at the same conference, the Chief Executive Officer of West Blue Consulting, Mrs. Valentina Mintah maintained that West Blue is clear on its contracts.

“Both entities have mandates to provide services to government as was mentioned earlier. West Blue has a mandate with Ministry of Finance, and GCNet has a mandate with Ministry of Trade. In terms of West Blue I can talk of what we do. We have a contract in place , we have terms of reference in place, we have three mandate which was to support the DIC exit, then to work the feasibility study and then a road map to derive a strategic action plan,” she explained.

She stated that the company has done all that with other stakeholders needed in the value chain system.

“So that is what we are working on rolling out those services. I am not privy to the contract of GCNet so I cannot comment on where overlaps are. But there are a lot of miscommunication and misinformation that there are overlaps. We need to all sit down and look at the terms of reference and look at the project plan of both and see where we can all collaborate to ensure that it is a win-win situation for the government,” she stressed.

Even though Mrs. Mintah insists there are no tensions between the two companies, she appeals to all stakeholders to work at removing the misinformation and miscommunications surrounding their operations.

“There is a lot of perceived duplication, we have to all sit down like the Vice President said and come up with solutions that work for all, ” she said.
