The Ambassador said possible areas of investment would include agriculture, energy sector, Information Communication Technology (ICT) as well as water and sanitation, which according to him, would help promote the needed development in Ghana.

According to him, education would not be left out of the package as students of Ghana would have the opportunity to study in Hungary.

Speaking in an interview with the media at Tsyome-Afedo in the Ho West District of the Volta region over the weekend, Mr. Szabo noted that it was unfortunate that his country did not open an Embassy in Ghana in the past 30 years.

He however pointed out that now that Hungary has opened its Embassy in Ghana, they would ensure that the already sound working relationship between the two countries would be cemented.

Mr. Szabo who lauded the hospitality of Ghanaians said their visit to Ghana was highly satisfactory, adding that it was his expectation that the two nations forged ahead in unity to help promote development for the mutual benefits of both citizens.

He explained that the visit to Tsyome-Afedo formed part of the Hungary culture week celebration in Ghana and also to honour Sena Dagadu, the current Hungary Culture Ambassador to the EU and daughter of the former Deputy Minister for Energy, Benjamin Dagadu who comes from the town to motivate the youth particularly girls to take their education more seriously in order to become responsible citizens.

Explaining further, Mr. Szabo said the visit was also aimed at honouring the wife of the former Deputy Minister, a citizen of Hungary who married in Ghana.

The former Deputy Minister of Energy, Mr. Benjamin Dagadu said his daughter’s achievement as a musician and Hungary Culture Ambassador to the EU has brought honour to the family and both countries saying initially, he, as a father did not support her daughter’s decision to study music, but later decided to give her the needed support since that was her interest.

Mr. Dagadu therefore urged parents not to impose professions their children are not interested in on them, but rather they should encourage them (children) to practice what they cherish.

He noted that imposing parents’ choice of profession on their children would not allow them to develop their talents to the benefit of society, stressing that Sena Dagadu is a shining example of a child who identified her talent, was encouraged to develop it thereby making her one of the big stars in the world.

The former deputy Minister disclosed that as a result of the good relations between Ghana and Hungary, 50 Ghanaian students have been awarded scholarship to study medicine in Hungary, saying two of the beneficiaries come from Tsyome-Afedo.

Continuing, Mr. Dagadu said Ghana stands to enjoy a long term benefit from Hungary and vice versa, in the years to come.

On her part, Sena Dagadu thanked her parents for the sound education they gave her and her other siblings, which has made her what she is today.

She called on Ghanaian youth to be humble and respectful, as well as take their lessons seriously to enable them achieve success and become responsible citizens in the future.

Sena Dagadu was hopeful that the opening of the Hungary Embassy in Ghana would open a new chapter for Ghanaian youth, stressing that her agenda was to promote development of children and youth.

The international Musician added that the Hungary Embassy would promote cultural exchange programmes between youths of the two countries.

There was a display of Hungarian and Ghanaian cultures as a team of Hungary Culture played and danced to the admiration of the large number of people within and outside the Ho West District.

The Musician and Hungary Culture Ambassador to the EU put up an excellent performance throughout the night last Saturday to show the people of Tsyome-Afedo, her home town her skills in music, which kept both young and old dancing throughout the night.
