The second edition of the Ghana Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) Summit and Awards was launched at a short but colorful ceremony on Wednesday at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra.
Chief Executives Network Ghana Limited, in partnership with Deloitte and Touche Ghana, is organizing the summit from 22-23 May, 2017 at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra.
It is expected to bring together about 500 CEOs, business leaders, entrepreneurs and government officials from across the world, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Speaking at the launch, Founder of Chief Executives Network Ghana Limited, Ernest De-Graft Egyir, explained that the event “is meant to provide the platform for global and local CEOs to integrate and interact with world-class subject experts to foster knowledge acquisition, learning while forming partnerships and synergies that can drive increased personal as well as organizational growth.”
“The Ghana CEO Summit also offers participants a broad range of networking tools and events such as the dedicated mobile application, networking lounge, meet-and-greet cocktails and the Gala Dinner, which all present opportunities to expand professional networks, identify new partners and forge new business relationships,” he added.
The theme for the two-day summit, BUSINESS GUIDE gathered, is “Digital Innovation Economy For Business Growth.”
It seeks to throw light on the power of digital innovations in promoting and sustaining enterprise development in Ghana and the world beyond.
This year, there are about 30 awards categories, which have been placed under two broad groupings, namely general category and industry category.
Corporate executives, whose companies’ annual turnover does not exceed $5 million, BUSINESS GUIDE learnt, would not be registered for the summit.
CEO of Margins Group of Companies, Moses Baiden, who chaired the launch, expressed the view that the digital age presents a new economy that can propel Africa into the new age faster than in any era in history.
He stressed the need for Ghana and indeed the rest of Africa to take keen interest in providing quality digital knowledge for their young populations in order to benefit significantly from the Information Technology age, saying the product of this economy is brainpower and not the old ways of doing things.
Consulting Leader at Deloitte and Touche, Martin Atta-Fynn, who gave the breakdown of the awards categories for this year, said CEOs, who are interested in the awards, would have to apply, adding that Deloitte and Touche shall conduct background checks on all interested candidates for the awards.
